Quick Update

I arrived in DC Saturday afternoon. My hotel is downtown and right next to the Metro. The mall is only a few stops away and the metro stops IN THE MALL (I should specify: Shopping Mall). I love it! Even more exciting…there is a Starbucks in the hotel. My school is literally right across the street. I haven’t done much sightseeing yet but I’ve got plenty of time.
Class started today. It’s a WebPublishing class so I expected there to be a lot of geeky boys but we have an all female class. It’s very cool so far and I can’t wait to learn more. I’m sure you’ll see some improvements to the appearance of my blog very soon.
Have a great week.

Happy Thanksgiving

I'll be on the road for the next few days so I want to send out an early Thanksgiving wish to you all. I am thankful for all of my friendships, old and new, especially over the past couple of months. I wish you all a safe and happy holiday!

Christine's Birthday is over the weekend and since none of us will be here we decided to celebrate tonight. I got her some roller skates. NOT roller blades. I got her the old fashioned ones like we used to have in grade school -yeah! So maybe when we all get home we can have a funky disco skate night at the rink -Hey!

It's About Time

I’ve been pretty busy the past few weeks and things are starting to get better.
I’ve been to a couple of hockey games. Pensacola doesn’t look good this year. They are currently at 2-6-1 –boooo. The Stanley Cup is making an appearance at the Pensacola Civic Center for Sunday’s game. Unfortunately I won’t be able to see it. Instead, I will be watching the Nutcracker Ballet in Niceville. Kristin’s daughter, Amber, is in it this year and I promised to be present. I am thrilled about seeing her dance. She has been attending ballet school for a few years now and I have yet to see her dance. She is a beautiful girl and I know she will do a fantastic job.
Veterans Day was last Friday; Jenn and I went to one of the local retirement homes to thank the veterans living there and to listen to some of their stories. They were all very happy to be visited by two young female solders.
The biggest news of the week though…I finally got internet and cable! Now all I need is a washer and dryer but that can wait until after the New Year since I’m going to be leaving soon.
I am going to Washington, DC for 3 whole weeks to learn how to build webpage’s. I’m so excited. I love creating things on the computer. I know that I will enjoy it thoroughly. I also get to see Brock, Sato (& his new fiance), and Julz as well as a couple of other people who have expressed interest in visiting me while I’m there. I’m also just a train ride away from The Big Apple. I have always dreamed of visiting New York City during the holiday season. I want to shop at Macy’s and go ice skating at Rockefeller Plaza in front of the big tree. Whenever I think of Christmas, I think of New York. It must be becasue every movie about Christmas is in New York City and it's beautiful. It's hard to get into the Christmas spirit in Florida. I will be sure to carry my laptop with me so that I can blog and post pictures.

Have a wonderful weekend.
