See Jen Run

As soon as I adjusted my clocks to fall back for daylight savings I entered lazy winter mode. The sun started to set at 5:00 p.m. and the weather started to turn cold… really cold… like below 0 cold. Well, these are not my ideal conditions for outdoor running. I’m not much of a treadmill fan, and I attempted a few laps around the 1/8 of mile indoor tack inside the gym but it just made me dizzy. The base gym offers spinning classes throughout the day and I even thought I’d give that a shot but apparently you have to know the secret handshake or something to get in. If you’re not there at least 30 minutes prior, forget it, you’re not getting a bike. Needless to say my winter did not include a routine aerobic workout. Although, I did visit the slopes a lot this winter, the results from snowboarding are not the same.

Jack Quinn’s is our local Irish Pub that holds a weekly 5k with a free t-shirt after your tenth run. I became a member late last summer but I didn’t quite make it to run number ten before the early evening darkness came. Now that we have sprung forward I’m back on track and should have my t-shirt (and my figure) in 2 more weeks. I have decided to treat myself with a new pair of Asics to start the season off right.
