Music and OCD

I let my OCD get the best of me this weekend. I decided it was time to do a music backup to my external hard drive in case something was to happen to my computer. I thought it would be a really good idea to create alphabetical folders to organize artists so I started moving files into their corresponding folders until I started getting to compilations and soundtracks…hmmm…how should I organize these? Well, while I was thinking about my brilliant plan for arranging my music files I was remapping my music in iTunes until I realized that whenever I upload a CD or download from the iTunes Store I would have to reorganize the files since it automatically dumps it in the iTune Music folder. Ohhh what have I done??? So, I have spent nearly the entire weekend undoing the mess I created in attempt to organize. Not only did I have to move the files back to their original locations, I also had to go back into iTunes and relocate all of my files. Not to mention I lost ALL of my playlists. What a loser? LOL.

Lessons Learned in the Snow

Colorado Springs has been getting quite a bit of snow lately…well, a lot of snow for me. I don’t know if it’s really a lot of snow for the locals. Driving has been quite an experience for me but good thing I have Florida plates on the car still, it gives me an excuse for being a horrible driver (in the snow I mean). My garage is undergoing some remodeling so all of my crap in sitting in the center of the garage while my poor car has to sit out in the cold. It took me 30 minutes to defrost, deice, and desnow my vehicle the other day and I was late for work. I’ve learned (the hard way) that you should pull your windshield wipers out so they don’t freeze to the windshield, and you should brush off the snow above the door prior to opening it otherwise the snow will fall into your seat and you have to sit in it. And if you don't brush off the hood the snow will just fly up into the windshield making it difficult to see. Ahhhh fun fun.

Rocky Mountain High

In late August of 2007 I hopped in my RAV4 and drove to my next duty station in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Most of you know that this was a challenging relocation for me as I have been a Beach Girl since 1985. But I have to admit, I have loved ALMOST every minute since moving here. The weather isn’t too bad on most days and there is so much to do. The snow is really pretty on the day it snows but when it stops it gets pretty nasty. I do miss my beaches but the view on my drive to work every morning is absolutely breathtaking.

My sister rode out here with me and stayed for a couple of days. It has always been a dream of hers to come to Colorado and I believe she loved it more than she thought she would. In the two days she was here we took a train to the top of Pikes Peak and visited the Royal Gorge. Since her departure I have gone to a Styx, Foreigner, and Def Leppard concert, an FSU vs. CU football game, an AF vs. TCU football game, a Rockies vs. Diamondbacks baseball game, an AF vs. CU basketball game, and most recently (and more importantly), a Red Wings vs. Avalanche hockey game…GO WINGS!!!

2008 New Year Resolution: Blog More

I feel horrible for abandoning my blog for so long. I just went though the entire thing and cleaned it up some (i.e. removed links that no longer work & removed detailed blogs about ex-boyfriends).
Because I have spent so many hours in review mode it's really late now and I'm ready for bed. So, no long post tonight. But, I have included links to my favorite posts over the past few years...most of which come from my earlier blogging days. I will try to do a better job this year.

TOP TEN THOUGHTS FOR 2007

Number 10
Life is sexually transmitted.

Number 9
Good health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die.

Number 8
Men have two emotions: Hungry and Horny. If you see him without an erection, make him a sandwich.

Number 7
Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach a person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks.

Number 6
Some people are like a Slinky ... not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you shove them down the stairs.

Number 5
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.

Number 4
All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

Number 3
Why does a slight tax increase cost you $200.00 and a substantial tax cut saves you $0.30?

Number 2
In the '60's, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal.

AND THE NUMBER 1 THOUGHT FOR 2007:
We know exactly where one cow with Mad-cow-disease is located among the millions and millions of cows in America , but we haven't got a clue as to where thousands of illegal immigrants and terrorists are located. Maybe we should put the Department of Agriculture in charge of immigration.
