Biloxi Blues

I am in complete shock! The disaster left behind from Hurricane Katrina has literally brought tears to my eyes and has broken my heart. Disasters such as this are difficult to watch on TV but Biloxi is a place that is very near and dear to my heart. I am speechless. My heart and prayers go out to everyone related to this tragedy.

My Man Jimmy

I welcome Hurricane season for a small number of reasons: Chaos at work (I know it sounds strange but it is a change of pace), paid vacations, and of course, Jim Cantore. You know if Jim is reporting on the Weather Channel we are in trouble and if he's within 60 miles of your current location, you're in real trouble. He didn't make it to Fort Walton Beach until after the evacuation order during Hurricane Ivan last year and even worse he stayed at a hotel 1/4 mile from my house and I wasn't there! He went straight to Pensacola Beach during Dennis. I'm praying he'll eventually make his way back up here prior to an evac order so I can run down to the beach before Kristin.
Ok, we are not really psycho stalker freaks. I wouldn't mind having my picture taken with him though.

Road Trips & Shot Glasses

A couple of years ago I realized that I had spent most of my life overseas and had seen more of other countries than of my own. So I decided that as long as I am in the U.S. I will take a road trip every year to visit new places. I also have a Hard Rock shot glass collection that I started in London in 1998. I figured this would be a great way to expand my collection since I only want the glass if I physically go to that cafe and take a shot for myself.

I'm currently working on this years road trip but the final itinerary will all depend on my possible assignment to Vegas (which I have never been). I am hoping to visit New York City again since 2 days (my first visit) is certainly not enough. I will be visiting DC again & I am very excited about that. I'm hoping to also visit Atlantic City, Cape Cod, Williamsburg, and Boston. If I do end up moving in the fall then Road Trip ‘05 will definitely be in conjunction with my move. This could include Oklahoma City, OK, Denver, CO, Salt Lake City, UT, Sedona, AZ, etc…

We had an awesome thunderstorm this morning, around 5:30. Seems like every time there is a really cool storm, it's too early in the morning to enjoy.
