I'm Home

I’ve been home for almost 3 weeks now and I’ve been running around like mad ever since. It’s wonderful to be home but I really miss the friends I made during my deployment.

I got an apartment in the same complex I moved out of before I left and I’m finally starting to get settled. Most of my furniture was sold because I thought I was going to Korea upon my return. I have come across some sweet deals on furniture and appliances so my place is finally starting to feel like home. The silk rugs and marble vases I bought over there add a really nice touch.

I have no idea what the Air Force has in store for me so I’m just going to hang out here until I get orders elsewhere. Hopefully I’ll be able to stick around this year to actually enjoy the summer. Maybe even make it to some FSU games.

Since I’ve been back I have traveled to Atlanta, Birmingham, and Mississippi to visit family. I’ve been unpacking, in-processing, setting up utilities, getting my hair fixed, and tanning (all the important stuff – LOL)…I didn’t even “go out” until this past weekend.

On Saturday, I ran in the McGuire’s Annual St. Paddy’s day 5K. I did much better than last year although I still haven’t seen my final time, I run butt off.

Saturday night one of my good friends had a going-away party. I had quite a bit to drink but I felt I deserved it and had a great time. CHECK OUT THE PICS.

I still have lots to do and I have to go back to work this week :( I’m taking leave soon and will be heading out to San Francisco for a bit so I’ll have more pics and blogs in the near future so keep checking.

Hello Jen!!! Glad to see you are getting back into a routine in Florida. Funny to think that I actually miss Afghanistan and the team had there. It was great being there with you, Capt D, Nate, Mike and all the Marines and Army guys that made it worth while. Take care of yourself and stay in touch!!!
