A Near Perfect Day

My good friend, Brian, graduated from a course out at Tyndall AFB last Thursday so, Christine and I drove out for the occasion. We got a hotel room for the night and the 3 of us took our time driving back to Fort Walton Beach the next day.
The graduation banquet was really nice and Brian won a distinguished graduate award (YEAH Brian!). The food was great and the guest speaker, former Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force, James C. Binnicker, was incredible.
The next morning we started to head back home. The weather was much chillier that it had been in weeks but the skies were beautiful. We found a small café for breakfast not too far from the hotel. I wish I could remember the name of it but they had the best eggs benedict that I’ve ever had.
After breakfast we took the scenic route of PCB to one of my favorite towns, Seaside. We walked/shopped for a bit and had a Pina Colada at the bar. Then we stopped in Graton Beach for lunch and another Pina Colada and some other drink that the bartender recommended that was very tasty. The next stop was the Outlet Malls of San Destin for some real shopping with Brian being the big spender for the day.
We finally made it home and had just enough time to get ready and meet our other friends for dinner at our favorite Irish Pub, McGuire’s. I had a yummy filet with asparagus and yes, another pina colada.
It turned out to be one of the best days I’ve had since my return. It would have been perfect except I was unable to find the “best” pina colada on the Emerald Coast…maybe I should just stick to the Margarita’s.

The best TASTING pina colada that day was definitely McGuire's, but I think they forgot to add alcohol. Oh well. That was a GREAT day, though! Thanks again for coming to my awards banquet!
